Abstract

|
Objective: The effects of the conventional occupational therapy and the computer- assisted cognitive rehabilitation program on stroke patients with unilateral neglect.
Method: In this study, twenty patients were examined who were diagnosed with stroke accompanied by left hemiplegia in K medical center in Seoul, and that were undergoing the occupational therapy. They were categorized into the conventional therapy group(COT group) and the computer-assisted cognitive rehabilitation program group(CCRP group). They were given five treatment sessions a week for eight weeks.
Results: In the MMSE-K, Albert Test, Line bisection Test, Star cancellation Test, MVPT, MBI, the COT group and the CCRP group, all indicating a statistically significant difference(p<.05).
Conclusion: The findings of the study are expected to be useful in treating stroke patients with unilateral neglect using the COT.
